Hi, I’m Sama! I completed my degree in Kinesiology and my Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario, followed by advanced pelvic floor certifications and acupuncture training at McMaster. I’m passionate about helping women feel strong, comfortable, and confident in their recovery — whether that’s during pregnancy, postpartum, or through menopause. My goal is to provide a supportive, evidence-based approach that empowers you to take control of your health and regain the freedom to live life without limitations.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on strengthening and restoring function to the muscles of the pelvic floor. These muscles support your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs, and when they’re weak or tight, they can cause issues like incontinence, pain, or pressure.
It’s for women at all stages of life — from pregnancy and postpartum recovery to menopause and beyond. It helps with incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, and core instability.
No — the treatments are gentle and tailored to your comfort. Your physiotherapist may use both external and internal techniques (with your consent) to assess and treat the muscles, but everything is explained in advance to make sure you feel safe and supported.
Many women notice improvements within just a few sessions, especially with bladder control and reduced pressure. Full results depend on your symptoms, consistency with exercises, and overall health, but most clients see significant progress in 6–8 weeks.
Yes, most extended health insurance plans cover physiotherapy sessions, including pelvic floor treatments. We’ll provide you with receipts so you can submit them for reimbursement.
